Assign a checklist to a project or work order
Updated July 6, 2026
You publish a checklist once, then assign it to the jobs where it should be filled. A checklist is always assigned to a project or a work order — optionally limited to specific people.
Assign a checklist
- Open a project or work order and go to the Checklists tab.
- Select Browse to pick an existing published checklist, or Create to build a new one and assign it automatically.
- Choose who should fill it (see below).
- Confirm.
Can I assign a checklist to individuals?
Yes — but always in the context of a project or work order, not on its own. When you assign, you can:
- Leave it open to Anyone on that project or work order, or
- Select specific team members so only they are expected to complete it.
There is no way to assign a checklist directly to a person with no project or work order attached.
Change or remove an assignment
- Use Change assignees on an assigned row to switch between Anyone and specific members.
- Use Unassign to remove the checklist from that job.
Assigned checklists show a Not started or Completed status as submissions come in from the field.
